Embraer E190

Embraer E190 Aircraft

The E-190 is a twin-engine, narrow-body jet manufactured by one of the largest aircraft manufacturers in the world, Embraer. The E-190 is a high-performance platform designed to replace current aircraft fleets. The engines are whisper quiet, exceeding noise and emission related requirements with 5-15% lower C02 emissions.

NJE has selected the “Advanced Range” version of the E190 which together with an uprated engine option allows for vastly improved passenger and cargo carrying capacity in high ambient temperatures and from shorter regional and FIFO aerodromes. When compared to the previous generation of regional aircraft, the E190 AR can uplift approximately 20% more when operated under similar conditions and from existing infrastructure.

The E190 also features a modern system architect with multiple levels of redundancy improving dispatch reliability and ensuring safety in all operating environments. The ‘glass cockpit’ design features a high level of automation often only seen on long haul, wide body jet aircraft. Equipped with a highly sophisticated flight management system, the E190 can provide equivalent levels of safety and reliability to remote aerodromes previously only available at major capital city airports.

The E190-100 AR’s higher maximum take-off and landing weights means that fuel is rarely required at destination aerodromes, reducing overall trips cost as enough fuel can be carried with a full passenger payload for the return trip. This reduces infrastructure costs, such as remote fuel facilities, improving overall operating economics.

NJE has been operating the E190 since 2014 leading the introduction of the type to the Australian FIFO market. NJE now operates a fleet of eight E190s and has the most modern fleet in Australia in the 100-seat category.
